High School Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS  2/11/2016

  • Good Luck to the JH basketball teams as they compete at Elgin this evening.

     

  • There will be an Art Club meeting today at lunch to discuss the Blast Assembly.  BYOL.

     

  • Spanish Club will meet at lunch today to discuss the Blast Assembly.

     

  • Seniors – A recruiter from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant will be here tomorrow to speak with any students interested at 2pm in the science building lobby.

     

  • There is a new program to replace the Oklahoma Career Information System.  It is OK Career Guide.  It is a free program which has been customized for Oklahoma and serves sixth grade through adult users to take career assessments, explore careers and military occupations, research schools, locate scholarships, build resumes and cover letters, learn how to interview & use social media.  Check it out at okcareerguide.org.  If you would like assistance with it, please let Mrs. Brown know.  Mr. Prater is also a good resource as he has been using it with his class.

     

  • Seniors – The Marlow Retired Teachers Scholarship application is now available for anyone planning on going into education.  Deadline is April 1st.

     

  • Bootlegger prep class this Friday after school at 4pm in the Elem. Gym Studio (upstairs).  Another class will be held March 4th.  These classes are available to all 8th grade and high school students.

     

  • Boys’ JH Golf will meet next Monday, February 15th in Coach Thomas’ room 7th hour. 

     

  • Health Careers Club will meet next Tuesday, February 16 at DRH Conf. Rm. 1 from 6-7pm.  The topics will be Critical Care Services & American Medical Response.  There will also be a tour of the emergency room.

     

  • Marlow After Prom t-shirts are on sale through next Wednesday, the 17th.  Order forms with a picture of the shirt are in the office.  They are heathered navy vintage wash and cost $15. 

     

  • The next Driver’s Ed class is scheduled for Saturday, February 20th from 9am-2pm in the HS cafeteria.

     

  • The list of students who have qualified for the 2016 Academic Banquet has been posted in the hallway of the main building, science building, Mr. Prater’s room, and in the office by Ms. Harmeyer’s desk.  The banquet has been set for Tuesday, April 5th at the Simmons Center.  Anyone who has qualified in the past needs to return your Academic Pin to Ms. Harmeyer by Monday.  Also, please check the list for correct spelling of your name and let Ms. Harmeyer know if any changes need to be made.

     

  • Marlow Juniors, Seniors, and your dates:  After Prom contracts are now available @ Mrs. Wright's desk.  A contract MUST be completely filled out by Marlow Juniors, Seniors this also includes underclassmen and out of town students going as your date. Contracts must be turned in to Mrs. Wright before you will be allowed to enter After Prom. Please read the contract carefully and fill out completely on both sides. It MUST have a Parent signature!!! There are Deadlines this year. Marlow Juniors and Seniors must turn in their contracts before or on the following dates to be guaranteed a prize. Anything turned in after March 11 are NOT guaranteed a prize, so get them in ASAP!  February 12 - Your name goes into the 1st round drawing; February 25 - Your name goes into the 2nd round drawing; & March 11 - Your name goes into the 3rd round drawingIf you are a Marlow Junior or Senior, you do not have to go to the Prom to be allowed into Afterprom, but the same requirements apply.

     

  • Any seniors or juniors who plan to bring NON MHS guests to prom need to pick up a prom guest approval form from Ms. Cramton. Forms and a $100 prom ticket fee will be due back to her by March 11.

     

  • For students who will be attending prom, just a reminder of the dress code: Girls: Strapless dresses are acceptable; however, no visible or exposed mid-riffs or dresses with backs cut below the natural waistline will be admitted into the prom area.  Also, dresses must be at least fingertip length.  Gentlemen are required to have a suit jacket, shirt, tie, and slacks at minimum.  Additionally, gentlemen will not be admitted with any type of headdress other than a top hat or cowboy hat. To avoid an embarrassing situation or to clarify the requirements, please contact Ms. Cramton at least one week in advance of prom.

  • Please check your email for a list of picture day workers excused through 6th hour today.
  • Please check your email and visit with your students about getting involved in the CASH FOR SCHOOLS contest through News 9.  Starting tomorrow, you can visit http://www.News9.com/CashForSchools and vote daily for a chance for our school to win $10,000!  We were previously the winners of $5,000 through a similar contest, so EVERYONE GET INVOLVED!!!
