Daryn is now in his 28th year in education. He spent his first 25 years teaching MS & HS History and coaching JH & HS football and baseball. Previous teaching locations include: Bray-Doyle (1996-1998), Dibble (1998-2000) and Rush Springs (2000-2008). From 2008 until 2021, Daryn taught 8th grade US History at Marlow and was an assistant HS football coach and the head MS baseball coach. During that time, he served as a Region 5 representative for the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association and was the OFBCA President in 2009-2010. He was then a Region 5 Representative for the Oklahoma Coaches Associaton and served as the OCA President in 2016-2017.
The 2023-2024 school year will be Daryn’s third year serving as Athletic Director and Transportation Director for Marlow Public Schools. He is a member of the Oklahoma Coaches Association, the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator’s Association, the Oklahoma Interscholastic Athletic Adminstrator’s Association and the Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation.
Daryn is a 1990 graduate of Rush Springs HS and received a Bachelor of Arts in History, with Teacher Certification, from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (Chickasha), in 1996. He is married to Angie (McConnell) and she works as an accountant for the National Rural Water Association, in Duncan. She previously taught 6th grade math, at Marlow Schools, for 8½ years before returning to NRWA, in 2020. They have two children: Blair was a valedictorian of the MHS Class of 2018 and graduated from Oklahoma State University, with a degree in Nutritional Science, in 2022. She is currently working at a pediatrician’s office in Oklahoma City and will attend Physician’s Associate school, at Wichita State University, this June. Bradyn is a Junior at MHS and is a member of the Marlow FFA program and plays football and golf for the Outlaws. The Brantleys are active members of the Chisolm Trail church of Christ in Duncan.
