There could be several reasons. First, during the enrollment parents/guardians fill out an information form to designate points of contact. If your spouse or other family member was designated as the primary contact, then most likely he/she is getting the notifications. Another issue we find is that parents/guardians have blocked the messages for one reason or another. This can only be corrected by working with you to unblock the messaging system number so that future messages may be received. Lastly, families often get a new phone number and do not remember to notify the school so we can update it in the messaging system. These are the most common issues to explain why you are not receiving a message. If you know none of these are the reason, please call your student’s site office to discuss to have them look at your information to ensure we have entered it correctly.

At the start of each school year these are picked up at the site level (elementary, middle school, or high school) offices. These documents will be items such as a current utility bill, mortage statement, rental agreement, tax bill, driver’s license, etc.) in parent or legal guardian’s name. Quafliying standards are set by the Federal Child Nutrition guidelines. The district distributes applications for qualifying at the start of each school year. If this has been lost or you did not receive one, you can contact the school site office for your student and request a new copy. Qualifying depends on family income and the number of dependents. Even if your student(s) does not qualify for free breakfast and lunches, it could be the student(s) qualify for a reduced price meal. The school will process your application and notify you of your status. Even if you do not intend for your student(s) to eat at the school, these forms help the district qualify for other grant and program dollars. If you have any further questions, please contact the Superintendent at 580-658-2719.
