HS/MS Vocal Music Director
I grew up in Chickasha, OK and I am a graduate of Chickasha High School class of 2012. I decided to stay in my hometown and attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) and graduated in December of 2016.
Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Education, USAO 2016.
Certified in General/Vocal Music PK-12.
Kodaly Level 1&2 Certified
I am a member of OkMEA, OCDA, NAfME, ACDA, and OAKE I attend the summer workshop for OCDA and the OkMEA workshop every year. For the last two years, I have been working towards my Kodaly Certification at OU. I will be completed with that in the summer of 2023!
This will be my fifth year as a Marlow Outlaw! I teach Middle School and High School Vocal Music along with one period of high school Music Appreciation.
I was previously at Jarman Middle School in Midwest City. At that school I taught 6-8 Vocal Music and Drama.
I come from a musical family. Both of my parents are singers and musicians. I have grandparents on both sides of my family who are singers and musicians. Great-grandparents who sang and played piano in church. My life has revolved around music. Now I am a vocal music director and both of my siblings are music majors at USAO. If that was not enough I married into a musical family.
I married my husband, Matt in December of 2016. I graduated from college the week before I got married! I met my husband in Music Theory IV at USAO where we both attended and graduated with degrees in Music. My husband is a graduate of Comanche High School, but we have turned him into an Outlaw! He is the new Marlow PS Band Director! We are excited to work together to create a wonderful music program in Marlow!
I had the joy of being able to make my hobbies my job. I have been working with students and have been involved with music most of my life. I spend time volunteering at my church Michigan Avenue Baptist Church in Chickasha. My husband and I have been working in ministry for the last 8 years together! We are very close to our family and spend most of our “free time” with them. If I am not at school or church, I am either watching Netflix and Youtube, playing board games, having a jam session with my family, or playing with my cat Cilantro.
